Sociology 1010
Sociology 1010 was a stimulating class; more importantly it was one of the first classes that I took that pertained to my goal of becoming a psychologist.
Unlike psychology, sociology focuses more on society and the functions (or dis-function) within each society. I enjoyed learning about the many sociologists and found their theories and research interesting; particularly Karl Marx. Topics that were a keen interest to me where: social class, culture, gender, sexuality and deviance.
Attached is a paper that I wrote on deviance. My focus for the paper was the variation of norms within each different society, and the labels that individuals are given when such norms and/or roles are broken.
